Research indicates that students gain higher levels of academic achievement through interactive technology-based education. In addition to a full iMac-based computer lab, Promethean boards, classroom iPads, mobile ChromeBook and MacBook Air carts, Carondelet offers a one-to-one iPad program for middle school students, grades 5-8.
Technology is presented to students as a powerful tool that can help them reach academic goals; therefore, we integrate technology in their daily learning curriculum. The secondary focus on technology is to embed problem resolution utilizing new approaches and perspectives.
Carondelet Catholic School strives to immerse students in an educational environment that will prepare them for secondary education and help them easily transition to the digital world beyond middle school. -
Current Technology
Carondelet Catholic School is an Apple based school where mobile devices are easily accessible and ready for use. All classrooms have access to a secure wireless connection (100+Mbps), as well as Promethean/wireless display resource. Shared iPads are available with the latest iOS per classroom and Chromebook carts are also available for check out.
Security and Support
The online safety of our students is one of our top priorities; therefore, we employ the use of an internet content filtering solution to ensure that the resources accessed on school devices are appropriate at all times. This in turn supports our goal to remain CIPA compliant. We also provide additional personal safety by using the content filtering solution in combination with AI to provide alerts regarding self-harm, grief, bullying/harassment content. *(Please note that clicking the CIPA link above will take you to an external site not supported by Carondelet Catholic School, it is meant to provide additional information only.)
Students have access to technical support in school and after school hours via email and web portal. Questions, challenges, ideas regarding the use of their assigned iPad, Chromebook, computer or classroom technology may be submitted for review and completion of request via ticket. In-person support is also available during regular school hours by visiting the Upper Campus iMac lab. We are more than glad to help resolve challenges and ensure confidence in technology to achieve educational success!
