We know a subject ourselves, or we know where to find information.”

Book Selection
Books are selected to enrich and support the curriculum, taking into consideration the interest, abilities, and maturity levels of our students. Book selection is the responsibility of the librarian, with input from the teachers.
Curriculum
Students in grades kindergarten through sixth are sequentially taught a variety of library and information skills. These skills are reinforced and enhanced at each grade.

Birthday Book Club
We invite all students to join the Carondelet Catholic School Birthday Book Club. Here's how it works:
On the occasion of their birthday, students are invited to donate a “Birthday Treat” to our library. If student's birthday is in August, the book could be given at the beginning of the school year. For June and July, it would be great to have the book given in early May so the book could start circulation before the end of the school year. A special ceremony is held in the student’s library class to give recognition for the gift. You may want to gift wrap the book to enhance the idea and ceremony of giving the library a special gift. The book will be processed and a special bookplate will be placed in the book acknowledging the gift giver.
The tradition of donating a book in this manner is a unique and lasting birthday treat that enhances the library for all of our students. We appreciate your support!
