LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS
This year BEGINNERS will have lessons on Thursdays in the Lower Campus Lunch Room.  All beginners, no matter what grade they are in, will take lessons at the same time.  The lessons will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 and will begin on October 13th and will end on December 1st.  Beginning students attending the lessons will NOT attend the regular CHESS CLUB until they have completed the set of lessons.  However, students may transfer as soon as they have developed the basic skills.  Upper campus students taking these lessons will be bused to the Upper Campus with the Club Saint students.

The lessons are meant for children who have little or no knowledge of chess.  If the child can set up the board, knows the names of the pieces, how the pieces move, and has played a game, then he/she belongs in the regular Chess Club.

TOURNAMENTS
During CHESS CLUB we will have our own chess tournaments, challenge each other and apply the strategies we have learned.  There will be an opportunity to participate in monthly Chess Meets with the School Chess Association (held on Saturdays around the Twin Cities).

If you are interested in joining CHESS CLUB, please call the school office for more information.
